After returning to the hobby after a 25 year break I had the dilemma of which radio to choose , seriously thought about the Yaesu FTDX-10 but at this point I couldn't justify spending £1500 on a radio so then looked at the possibility of a Yaesu FT-710 AESS which was affordable at just over £1000 but in the end I decided a shack in the box would be more suited to my requirements therefore I sent for a Yaesu FT-991A , at around £1200 it's still quite a fair chunk of money , do I regret my choice well in short NO is the answer , very happy with the radio especially now that I,m beginning to get to grips with working it , mostly a menu driven radio but not too difficult to understand , basic functions are easily picked up but I have still to look into the digital side of things yet , to sum it up I,m happy with my choice and glad to be back on air , 73,s from 108DT051 Tommy
