Your First 30 Days with DELTA TANGO
A simple path to learning the hobby, radio terminology and joining the DX community responsibly.
Week 1: Learn and listen
Learn the terms, understand the equipment you have and listen to activity. Read the local rules before transmitting.
Week 2: Understand your station
Learn the radio controls, microphone technique, antenna arrangement and common sources of interference. Ask for help before risky electrical or antenna changes.
Week 3: Learn contact procedure
Practise a concise call and understand the information commonly exchanged. Keep a log of stations heard and note UTC time and mode.
Week 4: Share and improve
If your equipment and intended operation are permitted, make a first contact. Share questions and lessons with the group; consider receive-only SDRs or learning about digital modes.
Keep learning
Progress at your own pace. You do not need expensive equipment to begin learning how radio works.

Always check current rules for the country and radio service you are using. A community convention or software feature is not proof that a transmission is authorised.
